Remote programming

Copying a remote, step by step

These guides cover the most common remotes we install. Take care with cheap knock-off remotes — they often won’t clone reliably.

Genius / FAAC SLH Remotes

  1. 1Hold both buttons on a working master remote until the LED flashes.
  2. 2Hold the desired button — the LED will flash quicker.
  3. 3Hold the corresponding button on the new slave remote until its LED flashes.
  4. 4Repeat for any other buttons you wish to copy.

Master vs. Slave Remotes

  1. 1Master remotes flash the LED twice when both buttons are held; slave remotes continue flashing.
  2. 2Only master remotes can clone codes to another remote.
  3. 3Be wary of cheap knock-off remotes — they often will not clone reliably.

CAME Fixed-Code Remotes

  1. 1Press the lower button on an existing remote until the LED glows red.
  2. 2Press the corresponding button on the new remote until its LED flashes quickly.
  3. 3Repeat for each button you wish to copy.
